Albert E. Hodgson, 93, of Livermore died Monday, Dec. 29, in Garden Square Assisted Living Center at Westlake, Greeley. Albert was born Feb. 25, 1915, to Earl & Lillie Hodgson in Boulder. He graduated from the 8th grade at Davidson School. On Oct. 3rd, 1937, he married Annie Linnea Benson in Boulder where they dairy farmed until 1959. He and his family then moved to a ranch at Virginia Dale. They remained there until 1985 when Albert & Linnea moved to a smaller ranch that was closer to town at Owl Canyon. He was a member to Larimer County Stock Growers Assoc. & Livermore Community Church. Albert took great pride in just being a common, hard working rancher. He never wanted to be better than others, but wanted to make sure he paid his own way. Growing up through the Depression taught hard lessons never forgot. Branding times, moving cattle cross country, hunting were all special because they were with his family. Survivors are one son, Albert Lee and his wife, Beverly; one daughter, Linda A. and her husband, Fred; one sister, Mildred Galloway; one sister-in-law, Cleora Hodgson; 10 grandchildren, Denny Hodgson and wife, Debbi, Connie O'Brien and husband, Jack, Sheri Maxwell and husband, Tony, Mark Hodgson and wife, Marla, Tammy Meisner and husband, Mike, Freddy Fangmeier and wife, Debbie, Sandy Rethage and husband, John, Ginger Schmidt and husband, Rich, Sonia Rogers and husband, Scott, and Tonia Teeter and husband, Shane and 18 great grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren. Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Linnea; daughter, Evelyn Jo Walker; son-in-law, Bill Walker; three infant children; twin sister, Alberta Bell; brother, Lester Hodgson and his parents. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Virginia Dale Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mr. Hodgson, from 12 to 7 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
