Abby Eloise (Walters) Bilyard, 94, of Ft. Collins, CO, formerly of Loveland, passed away on August 21, 2017 during the Solar Eclipse.

Abby was born May 20, 1923 in Trenton, NE to Arthur E. and Florence (Houser) Walters. She grew up on a farm NE of town with 1 brother and 6 sisters. Due to the devastation of the Dust Bowl the family moved to Leadville, CO in 1940. Abby graduated valedictorian from Max Schott High School, Climax, CO in 1941. During the war, she worked at the Denver Federal Center as an artillery trigger tester. Married to Donald R. She loved the Rocky Mountains, flower gardening, reading and working with clay. She will be fondly remembered for her strong hugs, steadfast encouragement, searching out the best parks and playgrounds, and letting her grandkids play in the mud!

Abby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don; brother, Robert Walters and sisters, Marjorie Walters, Myrna Morrison, Alma Moffett, Eunice Evans, and Ellen Oleary.

She is survived by sister, Norma Cole of Trenton; son, Raymond Bilyard of Paonia, CO; daughter, Lynn Bogard (Jerry) of Ft. Collins; grandchildren, Kael Frank, Jason (Merideth) Bogard, and Lisa Lafranca (David); and great-grand daughters, Zoe Frank, Camille and Elise Lafranca, and Beatrice Bogard.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staffs at Lemay Avenue Health and Centre Avenue Health for their tender loving care for the past 7 years.

A private family graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Abby's beloved mountains.
