    William T. Church

    July 7, 1947 - November 3, 2019

William Thomas Church William (Bill) Thomas Church, age 72, entered his Lord’s presence on Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was born on July 7, 1947, to Harriet and Harold Church, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In 1969, Bill married his childhood sweetheart, Karen Holmes (Scranton, PA). As teenagers they met at Pocono Mountain Bible Camp and fell in love. They had four children and raised their family in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Bill was a devoted husband and father and worked tirelessly as a dockworker for Roadway Trucking for 32 years. He was a Cub Scout leader and a baseball coach & manager from T-ball all the way through teenage leagues. He treasured his family and left his imprint on all of our hearts. Bill was a man who loved studying and sharing God’s word, and most importantly, he had an unshakable faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was a true servant of God and his passion was helping people. He always had a smile, was gentle in heart, and was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. Bill was a mentor to many young people. He loved being a Sunday school teacher and singing in the church choir. Bill and Karen shared God’s Word and sang hymns in nursing homes for 20 years. Bill also was an encouraging companion to many elderly people at Home Instead Senior Care. Bill and Karen made many close friends during the two years they lived in Conway, SC. Bill spent his free time enjoying fishing and gardening, and his unique sense of humor and generous personality made him the object of everyone’s affection – to know him was to love him. His selfless love for his family and friends was ever shining and he will be deeply missed. Bill is survived by Karen, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years; sons Bill (Tamara) of Arlington, TX and Steven (Laura) of Hudson, OH; daughter Kelly (Harry) of Fort Collins, CO; sister Bonnie of Kingston, PA; and their families. He leaves a legacy of love for his nine cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his precious son, Christopher. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at 12 pm at Timberline Church, 2908 S Timberline Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80525. A luncheon will immediately follow. Memorial gifts may be directed to Samaritan's Purse, the Alzheimer's Association, or 180 Ministries Teen Challenge at 333 S. Bannock Street, Ste. 700, Englewood, CO 80110.
