Stephen Maclean Knox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

This is more a life tribute than an obituary for Steve Knox, a good man. He loved others in active ways, even before they were born, when they came into his life, when they needed him for anything. He reached out to be there, to help, to play and share music, to bring joy, to solve problems, to ride motorcycles to new adventures, to fix the broken, to rejoice in many gifts, to love and help animals and children, to listen, to celebrate together, to ride bikes, to play basketball, to teach swimming, to climb mountains, to photograph birds and scenery in different states, to help with educational challenges, to welcome others into his life, to support church, to pray together and uplift the sick or sorrowing, rejoicing in the good others had as well. For him, life was to be lived with gratitude and joy. He was a man of honor and loyalty, a trustworthy husband, father, grandfather, doing what he said he would do, following through, not going off the path of good for expediency, not being selfish but always giving more and more from his wide heart, using his example to lift up others and bless and enrich them. A man of integrity and persistence. He was and is a man of hope and faith, believing and trusting in Christ Jesus’ words and model, and endeavoring to teach others not to be afraid. He kept the spiritual view, reading a daily Lesson, applying truths, being class-taught, being active in church, always thinking of others, practicing spiritual healing all through his life, which gave him the foundation of not being afraid at the end, even as he was concerned for us and telling us not to be afraid or sorrowful in this ridiculoso end experience knowing the transition from earth was to heaven. Knowing we all will see each other again and we will laugh with joy. He was a man of fun and adventure, motorcycling through Europe, then through Mexico with Katie, taking the kids on many family trips and explorations in many different states and countries, being willing to live in Japan, and visit France, Spain, Norway, Australia, Korea, Costa Rica, and more places with anticipation, watching stars, exploring life small or large, taking the whole family to Costa Rica and Hawaii, hiking, taking on daily problems and figuring out how to fix them in the right way, and being grateful for so much good in his life and taking that good with both hands. He was brave in approaching life, in dealing with life’s challenges and in approaching the next step of life past death. And one day, like the birds he loved, he opened his wide wings and took to the sky. And we always love him and are grateful for him being in our lives. He made a difference in the world as a good friend, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and the world and our lives is better because he was in it.
