Norma Jean Govan (nee Shea), died October 31, 2015. She was born at home in Dumont, NJ to Edythe Marie and Joseph Leo Shea. Edythe died early in Norma's childhood and she was lovingly raised by her stepmother Florence Scott. Summers were spent at the Scott family farm in the Catskills in NY. Norma attended Catholic schools through the 8th grade and graduated from Bergenfield HS in 1949.

She worked for the NJ Bell Telephone System for 5 years where she met her husband, David M. Govan. When Dave's military orders were issued they had 17 days to plan their wedding and were married at Sacred Heart Church in Haworth, NJ in 1953. Their honeymoon was spent travelling by train to San Diego, CA. In 1956 they returned to NJ living in Lakehurst, Trenton and Somerville before moving the family to Ft. Collins, CO in August 1973.

She enjoyed family and human development and attended Rutgers University, Trenton State College, Aims Community College and Colorado State University. Later in life she obtained her real estate license and established her own business, Esprit Ltd Realtors. She also had a videography business.

Her passions were her husband and family, hiking, biking, vacationing at the shore, being in the mountains and volunteering with Larimer County Search and Rescue. She was also passionate about attending all her children and grandchildren's activities including sports, music, drama and academics. She enjoyed building friendships, singing, gardening, dancing, animals, chocolate and ice cream. Additionally, she was an accomplished seamstress and expressed her artistic abilities in stained glass.

She is survived by her beloved husband, David M., their four children, Donna Govan, David S. Govan ( Debra), Eileen Cordsen (Jim), Terry Muller (Ed) and their five grandchildren, Ryan, Katie (Jayden), Zac, Mckenna and Amanda. In addition, she is survived by extended family with whom she shared many adventures and memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Joseph T. Shea.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Larimer County Search and Rescue (LCSAR) in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Saint John XXIII Catholic Church, 1220 University Ave.
