Lois Jean Johnson

Jean Johnson, 96, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on April 13, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born January 23, 1925 to the late Roy E. and Irene Vanderhoof in Rocky Ford, Colorado. After her birth in Rocky Ford her family returned to Fort Collins where Jean lived for the rest of her life. Her family lived for about 5 years in Stove Prairie in the early 1930’s where Jean has fond memories of riding her horse to the one room schoolhouse there. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Glen Johnson, in 1943. They had three children together. Jean and Glen were farmers in the Fort Collins area. Jean was an extremely outgoing, charismatic, loving, and generous woman. She loved to spend time with family, especially her grand kids. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Glacier View and traveling to many places around the world. Jean is survived by her partner David Young, son Van (Jill) Johnson, her grandchildren, David Johnson, Clint (Vraja) Johnson, Shea Johnson, Aaron (Britni Smith) Johnson, Quinn Johnson, her great-grandchildren, Noah, Reese and Gracie Johnson, her daughter-in-law Georgia (Terry) Dye, and many cherished nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Ron Johnson, daughter Kristin Rudolph and family; Greg, Lisa, and Scott, and brothers John Vanderhoof and Don Vanderhoof. The family is planning a celebration of life when it is safe to gather in the future.
