    Joseph Gary Janezich

    July 11, 1956 - April 16, 2022

Joseph Gary Janezich died on April 16, 2022. He was 65 years old. The cause of death was a head injury following an accident in the home. He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda of 28 years. Gary was born on July 11, 1956 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Joseph L. and Evelyn H. Janezich. He graduated from South High School in Pueblo in 1974 and went on to graduate from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Gary retired in 2016 from Larimer County having worked in the Information Technology Department for 33 years. Fitness was important to Gary and you could find him working out at the Fort Collins Club almost daily. Gary was a lifelong sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed watching golf and cheering on the Denver Broncos. In recent years he and Linda loved playing golf, snowshoeing at Rocky Mountain National Park, taking long bike rides together, and enjoying friendly competitions during their nightly card games. Gary and Linda were very fortunate to travel to many wonderful places around the United States and Europe. Two of their favorite adventures were a trip to Scotland and Paris with Russ and Margo that included the privilege of attending the Ryder Cup in Gleneagles, Scotland as well as a phenomenal tour of the beaches of Normandy. A European cruise to the Mediterranean was another favorite with the chance to tour Pompeii and the gorgeous Amalfi Coast of Italy. Celebrating their 10th anniversary in Maui was a cherished memory. Surviving Gary are his wife Linda, his stepdaughter Sarah (Josh), stepson Aaron (Aubrey), grandsons Kendrick, Kade, and Kooper, brother Larry Janezich of Washington DC, and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Ed. Gary will be remembered as being very generous and caring and was always available to help anyone in need. He was most happy cooking for his friends and family. His meatballs and spaghetti were enjoyed by everyone who had the pleasure of partaking. He leaves behind many lifelong friends and family members. At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on May 1, at Pott’s on Collindale Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
