April 5, 1933 - January 26, 2020
Elizabeth “Jane” Meyer passed away peacefully during the afternoon of Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Centre Avenue Health & Rehab Facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the age of 86 and is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and many loved ones. The Memorial Service for Jane will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at LifePointe Church (located at 900 E. Prospect Road, Fort Collins, Colorado) with Pastor Dale Williams officiating. Jane will be buried at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery later that day in a private ceremony. Please direct any memorial gifts to LifePointe Church’s missions fund. Jane was born on April 5, 1933, as Elizabeth Jane Swaim to Max and Dorothy Swaim in Hiawatha, Kansas. She grew up on a farm in northeast Kansas and married Robert “Bob” Meyer on September 9, 1956, at First Baptist Church of Hiawatha, Kansas. Jane and Bob moved to Loveland, Colorado, in 1957 and then to Fort Collins, Colorado, a year later where they settled down and started their family of three daughters: Marsha (Marty), Linda, and Lisa. Over the years, Jane worked as a bank teller in Kansas and Colorado, as an office manager for a brick mason, and as a bookkeeper/receptionist for a medical office. Family was very important to Jane, and she took great pleasure and pride in her daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Marty and Morgan Bolls, Linda and Rick Taft, and Lisa and Frank Minjarez; by six grandchildren and their spouses, Brian Bolls, Brenda and David Pastore, Jordan Doucette, Emily and Skylar Porter, Katie and Sean Romero, and Lily and Graden Sikes; and by many nieces and nephews in Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Meyer; her parents, Max and Dorothy Swaim; her brother, Bill Swaim; her son-in-law, Mike Doucette, and her grandson, Robert Bolls. The church family at LifePointe Church was also very important to Jane, and many of her strongest and closest friendships started there. She and Bob became members of First Baptist Church (now LifePointe Church) when they moved to Fort Collins in 1958, and Jane was still an active member over 60 years later. During that time, she helped lead Pioneer Girls, served as a deaconess, was a long-time member of the Harvesters Class, and a member of the Missions Board. Jane loved to play games and to travel just about anywhere with family or close friends. She was always ready to go on an adventure or to hear about those of her grandkids. She will always be remembered for her sweet and caring spirit.
