Diane Oliberos
February 6, 1946 - March 20, 2022
It is with great sadness we share that Diane Oliberos passed away peacefully March 20th surrounded by her family. With grace and courage, she overcame cancer and lived with several chronic illnesses. Most know her through her years spent in the athletic department at CSU working with former athletes, Title IX programs, football, and marketing and development. Many don't know that she quietly contributed to our Fort Collins community. Over decades she has sought out individuals and groups in need. She found ways to generously and anonymously make donations and personal efforts to better peoples' lives. Earlier in life, Diane, seeking adventure and a new career, moved from Boston to Hawai'i. There she met her husband, Michael. Later they would travel across the mainland deciding to settle in Colorado. They started a family, having 2 daughters, Michelle and Nicole. A son in law, Teddy, joined her family too. You would find Diane cheering on the Rams at football and basketball games, out in her garden, reading, and laughing and talking with family while preparing a delicious meal. She was a deeply compassionate and supportive mother, wife and caregiver to her mother. There will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Fort Collins Food Bank or the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization she was active in that is committed to racial justice.
