    Alfredo M. Dominguez (Chaparro)

    July 15, 1948 - May 25, 2020

On a beautiful sunny day and not a cloud in the sky, Alfredo M. Dominguez, better known as “Chaparro” reunited peacefully in heaven with his partner in life, Esmeralda Dominguez on May 25th, 2020, at the age of 71 with his children by his side. Alfredo was born on July 15th, 1948, in Emiliano Zapata de Sain Alto, Zacatecas, MX. to Marciana and Miguel Dominguez, and moved to Fort Collins, CO at the age of 19. He would later meet and marry the love of his life, Esmeralda Garza on October 3rd, 1970. In the late 1970’s, Alfredo teamed up with his brother in law, Cesar Garza II, and formed GRDD Construction, but later cut ties; and in 1984 joined Pierson’s Concrete Construction Co., being a devoted reliable employee for 36 years. He was a hard worker, and never missed work, considering the crazy Colorado weather changes; he was always eager to learn something new. He made it a priority to dedicate himself to his wife and their four children; they were inseparable. On his free time, Alfredo enjoyed teaching/playing poker and dominos with his grandkids (with money of course), playing pool with his brother Rogelio on the weekends, and cruising in his pearl white jaguar with his grandson, Ruben. He never missed a family gathering, simply because they were his favorite, and was never one to say no to a cold beer, or “una fría” as he would refer to them. He was a diehard Colorado Rockies fan, and going to Coors Field to watch them play was always a treat. Alfredo had mad love for baseball and always attended his son Augustine’s baseball tournaments. He was also known to drive around different baseball parks in Fort Collins and Loveland to watch and cheer on the winning local teams. Alfredo also loved to cook and knew how to throw it down in the kitchen when it came to his famous menudo, leaving the neighborhood salivating from the amazing aroma. He loved to sit down with a cup of coffee or a nice cold beer and share stories from back in the day with his family and friends; the stories he knew that would make them laugh, even if at his expense. Alfredo was a stranger to nobody and made friends with everyone who simply smiled back. He was always willing to help others in need and graciously welcomed anybody with his kind and warming personality. He was short man with a big heart and a kind caring soul that will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him; however, he will never be forgotten. His beautiful manners have been passed on to his family and with pride, who will continue to make him proud. Alfredo will live in our hearts forever, until we are called one by one and our broken chain is linked again. Alfredo’s Golden Heart stopped beating, his hard working hands at rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. Alfredo will be remembered by his two sons; Alfredo (Corina) Dominguez, Jr, & Augustine (Rebekah Holden) Dominguez, both of Fort Collins, two daughters; Jessenia (Gerardo Lamas) Madrid of Fort Collins & Gabrielle (Gabriel Camacho) Montalvo of Greeley, CO. His beloved grandchildren, whom he treasured with all his heart: Gabriel Dominguez, Angel Madrid, Yesenia Madrid, Daniel Dominguez, Ruben Montalvo, Jazlene Montalvo, Ayanah Lamas, Augustine Dominguez II, Isaiah Dominguez, Jaylssa Holden, Dominic Dominguez, Neveah Dominguez, Joseph Roy Carl Camacho, Esmeralda Dominguez, Joaquin Dominguez and his great grandson Ezekiel Dominguez. He will also be remembered by his father, Miguel Dominguez, Sr. of Fort Collins, brothers; Miguel Dominguez, Jr. of Lamar CO., Pedro Dominguez of Greeley, CO., Domingo Dominguez and Rogelio Dominguez, both of Fort Collins CO., his two sisters; Santos Dominguez of Juarez, MX and Rosalba Gomez of Pueblo, CO., various nephews and nieces, and countless friends. Along with adoring wife of 49 years, Alfredo was also preceded in death by his mother, Marciana Dominguez and Granddaughter Esperanza Faith Dominguez. For those who wish to pay their respects, viewing will be from to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, May 28th, 2020 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Rosary, followed by a Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, May 29th, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery ****Please remember to bring a mask to attend viewing and funeral services****
