Walter John Gonzales, "Gordo" passed away peacefully at Poudre Valley Hospital on September 15, 2021 and went to be with the Lord. Gordo was born on June 24th, 1954 in Fort Collins, Colorado to George and Bernice Gonzales who preceded him in death.

Gordo was also preceded in death by his daughter Veronica Frances Jaramillo.

He is survived by his brothers Manuel Inez Gonzales, Danny Gonzales (Bea), and sister Diana Christine Gonzales and "My Chacho".

Gordo had three grandchildren, Cornelius Alexander Motto from Greeley, Alexxia and Anjoli Dominguez of Fort Collins.

He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Gordo also had a lifelong friend Bernie Montoya of Fort Collins.

Gordo was in the Navy and he was so proud to have kept in touch with all his Navy buddies.

Gordo, in his younger days, enjoyed riding his motorcycle wherever it would take him. He loved his Raiders and he was a diehard fan. Gordo also participated in playing Santa Clause for the Northside Aztlan Community Center, "Toys for Tots" program for many, many, years. He was also involved in his Native American spiritual drumming which he loved so much.

A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado. Visit bohlenderfuneralchapel to send condolences.
