Vernon R. Kechter

Vernon R. Kechter, 86, of Fort Collins, died September 11, 2013 at a local nursing home. Mr. Kechter was born May 15, 1927 in Fort Collins to George and Louise Kechter. Vernon married Shirley J. Kaltenberger on November 29, 1954 in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Kechter lived in Fort Collins his whole life. He owned and operated Vern's Auto Upholstery from 1949 to 1994. In his later years he worked as a shuttle driver at Markley Motors. Survivors include her wife, Shirley and daughter, Shelley Kechter of Fort Collins and one sister, Edna Fritzler of Torrington, Wyoming. Preceding Vernon in death are his brothers, Ray, Richard, Harvey, and Lawrence, and one sister, Lucille Sipes. No services will be held.
