Trina Michelle Lilyblade

January 29, 1973 — March 2, 2024

Listen to Obituary
On January 29, 1973, an abnormally warm winter day, Trina Michelle Lilyblade quietly entered the world. From then on, she was anything but quiet. This redhead (or sometimes blue or purple) was never afraid to be true to herself, with an adventurous spirit, fierce independence, and beautiful sass. Her friends and family enjoyed her big smile, sense of humor, and unapologetically honest opinions. She attended Cache La Poudre Elementary and Junior High and graduated from Poudre High School with the feisty class of 1991. There, she embraced music by playing the cello. Always fighting for peace and justice, she became editor of the school newspaper.

After high school she attended CSU studying music therapy. Continuing her passion for helping others, she graduated from IBMC and became a medical assistant for 20 years. This was a perfect fit for her kindness and warm spirit.

"Live life on play, not pause." All through life Trina had a love for music. Her room growing up was filled with songs from Pink Floyd, The Eurythmics, Barenaked Ladies, Howard Jones and Tears for Fears. To this day her sisters still have vivid memories of songs she played on repeat, often while cruising in her orange VW Beetle. She loved going to concerts, camping in Pingree Park and CSU football games. Her last dream was to live in a converted bus by the river with her dog.

She fought many health challenges over the years, including breast cancer this year. On her last day of chemo, she was excited to see CSU football players visit the treatment center. The team shared stories took pictures and brought such joy to her. She loved her Rams!

On March 2, 2024, she left as quietly as she arrived, surrounded by family and friends. Her life reminds us to always live in the moment and hold your loved ones close. Preceding Trina in death are her grandparents Mortimer and Naomi Brown, Paul and Murdene Lilyblade and her biological father John Nunn.

She leaves behind two amazing sons Nigel Lilyblade and Ezra Lilyblade; her parents David and Sue Lilyblade; her four sisters Jerrilynn Lilyblade (Mark Kauffman), Annie Lilyblade, Maggie Lilyblade Tuck (Justin), and Sara Lilyblade Zahm; her nieces and nephews Sofia Kauffman, Anderson Zahm, Olive Tuck, Scarlett Zahm, and Violet Tuck; and her best friends, Tim DeBoer and her dog, Cooper.
