Tenia Sheeley, 33, passed away on Dec. 22, 2006. Tenia was born in Howell, Mich., and lived in Michigan, Minnesota and Colorado. Tenia was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 14 but never let the disease control her life. She was a devoted and beloved mother and wife and a student at Colorado State University. Tenia was a senior at Colorado State University and a member of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. Tenia was a very independent woman who genuinely appreciated the help, kindness, support and assistance from those around her. She was a very compassionate, happy and pure soul who touched many lives and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around her. All who met her were blessed to have had Tenia in their lives as she changed so many for the better. Despite the challenges and physical limitations brought on by the progression of her disease, she had a wonderful sense of humor with an infectious laugh and a personality that shone a ray of sunshine on us all. She was appreciative of the fact that she was recognized by those around her as a normal person who just needed a little more help from time to time and was determined to live her life just like anyone else. She thoroughly enjoyed her experience at Colorado State University and eagerly looked forward to her weekly Wednesday Delta Sigma Pi meetings. Tenia gave birth to a son, Christopher, on Feb. 12, 1992. She often referred to the birth of her son as the happiest moment of her life. Tenia cherished her moments with Chris whether it was something as simple as a car ride or spending quality time on the couch together watching cartoons or helping him with his homework, math in particular. She had a personal relationship with Christ, and we know that she is with God now in a better place. Tenia is survived by her son, Chris; her husband, Mark, of Windsor; her mother, Trudy Ingland of Minnesota; and her father, Phillip Hardwick, stepmother, Christy and four brothers, Terre, Dale, Corey and Shannon of Windsor. Those who desire may view Tenia from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tenia Sheeley Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
