Sandra Kay Hergenreter

Sandra (Sandy) Kay Hergenreter passed away on July 12th, 2021 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins Colorado.

Sandy was born in Sterling, CO on June 2nd, 1957, to Frank and Shirley Hergenreter. Her family moved to Ft Collins, CO when she was 6 years old where she attended school and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1975, then attending Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO for 2 years. Sandy moved to Florida and lived in Ft Meyers and Sanibel Island, she has loved the beach ever since, carrying baskets of seashells with her when she moved to Michigan and again when she moved back to Ft Collins.

She loved swimming, (making sure she had a swimming pool wherever she lived), she loved to sing and had a beautiful voice, and she loved people. She spent many years as a waitress at Mountain Café in Ft Collins because she loved to socialize, make people smile, and make people feel well taken care of! Sandy loved all of her family and was a very special and giving Aunt to her niece and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father Frank Hergenreter, and her oldest brother, Steve Hergenreter. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Hergenreter, three brothers, Frank, Jerry, and Marty Hergenreter, all of Ft Collins, CO, and her sister, Susan Zimmer of Manson, WA. Also, her niece Carly Hergenreter of Ft Collins (Jerry's daughter) Chris Hergenreter of Dallas TX and Dylan Barnes of Trophy Club, TX (Frank's sons) and Jake Zimmer of Seattle WA (Susan's son).

Please join us in a service at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 5450 S. Lemay, Ft. Collins at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28th and at the Collindale Golf Course, 1441 East Horsetooth Rd. for a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Sandy.
