Ruth Janet Schumacher Bond went to be with her Lord and Savior in Fort Collins, Colorado on August 16, 2015. She died of natural causes after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held at LifePointe Church at 900 E. Prospect, Fort Collins, Colorado at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Burial will be at the Poudre Canyon Chapel Columbarium in a private family ceremony.
Ruth Janet was born February 12, 1929 in Greeley, Colorado to Howe Lyman Schumacher and Winifred Rugh Schumacher. The family moved to Oklahoma later that year. When she was 9 years old the family moved back to Greeley where they then lived and she graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1946. She attended CSCE, now UNC in Greeley. She was an executive secretary, at Noffsinger MFG. Co. in Greeley. She lived and worked in Colorado, California, and Texas. She married Gene Fenno in 1948, they divorced. She married Stanley Bond in California in 1955. They lived in Hollywood, California where Suzan was born. Then they lived in Denver, Poudre Canyon where son, Dan was born, Fort Collins and then to Longview, Texas where Stan died in 1978 of a heart attack. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she prayed to ask Jesus Christ to take over her life. She enjoyed sharing about Christ anywhere, anytime, to anybody. She was a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship and led many women in Bible Studies, and spoke at Christian Women's Club and other women's gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzan and son-in-law, Stephen Philpott; twin grandsons, Wesley and Bradley; and great grand-daughter, Ashley; son, Daniel and wife, Karen; granddaughters, Courtney, Katie, and Laura Winifred; and grandsons, Brandon and Aaron. Courtney is married to Calvin Banks and has twin boys, Bryce and Ryan; and daughter, Tiffany.
