Ruth Blue

On Oct. 27, 2006, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to Our Heavenly Father's home. She leaves behind many wonderful memories of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Blue. Ruth and Darrell were both active members in the Fort Collins Chapter #412-Moose Lodge. Ruth was enrolled into the Women's Moose Chapter in September 1978. She served in many facets of the lodge, starting in 1979 as Junior Regent, on to Senior Regent in 1980, Jr. Graduate Regent in 1981, Ritual Director in 1982, and Recorder 1983-1985. Degrees received, Academy of Friendship 1981, College of Regent 1983, State of Colorado-Co-Worker of the Year 1989-1990. She was honored with the prestigious title of International Deputy Grand Regent in Chicago 1992-93. In a volunteer position, Ruth carried through the task of putting together funeral dinners for Moose Lodge Members from 1978 through July 2006. We all enjoyed her wonderful homemade pies, potato salad and many different dishes. Ruth Blue leaves behind her children, Harry Nicks and his wife, Carol, Dan Nicks and his wife, Linda, Sherry Tompkin and Ruth Gallagher. Ruth's 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren were a constant pride. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her family so very much and we will miss her. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the McKee Medical Center-Hospice Ward in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524. Thank you to the Hospice staff for such loving care. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Women of the Fort Collins Moose Lodge will be officiating at the service.
