It is with great sadness that we tell you that our brother, Robert Bob Lopez suffered a fatal fall in his home March 6, 2014. Bob was born September 27, 1949 to William and Delphine Lopez. He was preceded in death by his father, William. Bob is survived by his mother, Delphine; his eldest brother, William Lopez, Jr. and wife, Wendy; son, Michael; and daughter, Jennifer. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Thomas Lopez and his wife, Cathi, son Matthew, and daughter Katy. Bob was a lifetime resident of Fort Collins. He remained single all of his life. He graduated from Poudre High School 1967. He attended Colorado State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Bob had retired after 25 years as a maintenance technician from Platte River Power Authority, specifically working at the Rawhide Power Facility. Bob enjoyed everything about sports. He and his numerous friends shared many moments living life through the Denver Broncos, and all high school, college, and professional sports. He held season tickets for the Broncos for 34 years. He shared many happy moments telling stories with his buddies and family. Bob had an impish smile and infectious laugh. He loved to read every newspaper or popular book available. He was a book, film, and album collector, who loved to provide his friends with photographs of their escapades together. Bob was extremely loyal to his family and friends. He had a very soft heart and his charitable ways were quiet but profound. He enjoyed being Santa Claus for the families of Platte River Power Authority during the holidays. Bob was the quintessential son, brother, uncle, and friend. There will be a memorial service Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The family humbly requests no flowers or donations.
