Listen to Obituary
Robert Owen Colwell of Cotopaxi, Colorado was born in Rural Kelly, PA to Helen and John Colwell. He attended Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas and later attended Colorado Mountain College.

Rob is survived by his wife, Rachel Colwell, and daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Adam Burke, along with his mother, Helen, and siblings: Richard Colwell, Linda Chitsey, Darcie Colwell, Jacquie Silva, and Margaret Schmitt, and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from his family, Rob loved few things more than dogs and the great outdoors. He always felt as though he were "a mountain man born 150 years too late," so it was only fitting that his sudden passing occur while in his favorite place to hunt. Although he looked forward to his annual hunting trip with much anticipation, Rob also had great respect for wildlife. He authored a children's book in 2013 called Augie the Moose Has a Loose Tooth to share with others this admiration for nature. Rarely could Rob go anywhere without effortlessly making friends, whether it was at work or in the grocery store. His kind, gentle spirit will forever be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to your local animal shelter or the SPCA be made in Rob's name to honor his memory.
