Robert (Bob) Strohman, 94, died Saturday August 20, 2016 at Columbine West Life Center of Ft. Collins.
Bob was born March 2, 1922 in Windsor to Jacob and Eva Elizabeth (Spryer) Strohman.
He married Martha Zwetzig on Sept 8, 1946 in Windsor.
Bob worked as a ranch hand in Wyoming until he enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He served aboard the USS Orion from 1942-1945. After leaving the service he moved back to Colorado where he farmed, then went to work as the Superintendent at the CSU Agronomy Research Center. He received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Dec. 1982. He retired from CSU in 1990 after 24 years of employment with them.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing cards. He planted over 900 Glad bulbs each year and enjoyed giving the flowers to others.
He is survived by his children, Pat (Bob) DeCicco of Greeley, Peggy Lynch of Ft Collins, and Gary (Jerri) Strohman of Superior; 5 grandchildren, Cathy(John) Johnston of Greeley, Mike DeCicco of Garden Valley CA, Matt (Salli) DeCicco of Columbus, MD, Michelle(Bob) Opdyke of Ft Collins, Megan Struck of Longmont; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, who passed away August 12, 2016; his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held for both Bob and Martha together at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E Stuart St on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11 am. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery.
