Patricia C. Harms, 78, passed away peacefully on Aug. 22, 2006. Her spirit and love lives on in the hearts of her children and all who knew her. Pat was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Tulsa, Okla., to John C. Carroll and Gail Carroll. Pat attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa, where she graduated in 1949 with a major in communications and a minor in religion. After graduating, Pat worked in radio and had a wonderful career in local community theater where she met George C. Harms Jr. She married George on Sept. 13, 1958. After George died in 1971, Pat worked at St. Stevens Episcopal Church in Wichita, Kan. In 1976, Pat moved her children to Colorado where she embarked on the second chapter of her life. In 1998, she retired after 20 years as the assistant to the foreign student adviser in the Office of International Programs at Colorado State University. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and dear friend Carol Friske. Survivors include her daughter, Leslie G. Harms and husband Michael Spearnak of Fort Collins; David and Sharon Harms of Denver; George and Cathy Harms of Fort Collins; and Emily Harms of Fort Collins. In addition she was loved by six grandchildren: Erin, Lindsey, Christy, Courtney, Liam and Eva. She also will be greatly missed by her daily companion, Sadie. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County.
