Nancy J. Shively, 80, died on September 14, 2010 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She was born on May 28, 1930, to Clifford and Aletha Vosler in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she grew up. She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1948, where she played piano in a dance band. She attended the University of Wyoming, graduating in 1952 with a degree in business administration. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. While a student at the University of Wyoming, a sorority sister introduced her to Robert W. Shively, who was stationed at Warren Air Force Base. They were married on January 20, 1953. Bob's Air Force career took them to Washington, DC, Great Falls, Montana, and Roswell, New Mexico. Their first son, Steve, was born in Great Falls. Following Bob's discharge in 1954, they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and a few months later to Worland, Wyoming. Susan and Robert, Jr., were born in Worland. She worked as a legal secretary for several years in Worland. The family moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, in 1962, and to Columbus, Nebraska, in 1967, where they resided for 20 years. She worked part-time as a secretary, most notably in the library at Platte College. She and Bob returned to Norfolk for three years, and also lived in Auburn, Nebraska, before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1993. She was an accomplished pianist and an avid duplicate bridge player, achieving the rank of Bronze Life Master. She enjoyed traveling, her family, church activities, doing volunteer work, and socializing with her many friends. She loved sports and especially followed the Wyoming Cowboys and Nebraska Cornhuskers football teams. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins, where she was active in Sarah Circle. She was a member of Newcomers in Fort Collins and P.E.O. Survivors include her husband; children, Steven of Logan, Utah, Sue Anderson Alan of Ft. Collins, and Robert Carmen of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Brett and Nate Anderson and Michael and Nicole Shively; brother, Richard D. Vosler; stepmother, Dorothy Vosler; sister-in-law, Wanda Beachell, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Virginia Lee Vosler; brother, Clifford "Sonny" Vosler, and sister, Shirley Wright. A memorial service will be held September 17, 2010 at 11 a.m., First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College, Ft. Collins. Lunch will follow the service. Pastor Rich McDermott will officiate at the service. Interment of cremains will be held at Beth El Cemetery, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
