Marvin L. "Red" Ashby, 82 of Cherokee Park, Colorado passed away on November 25, 2011. Red was born November 5, 1929 to Bill and Leota Ashby in Fort Collins, Colorado. Red married Dolores "Dee" Harvey at Cherokee Park Dude Ranch on July 12, 1951. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He spent 30 years maintaining roads for Larimer County Road and Bridge and ranched in his off time. He was a very talented artist and carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, his parents, a sister and a brother. Red is survived by his son, Mike Mary;daughters, Micky Grant Ashby and Melanie George Hersh, a brother, John; sisters, Dorothy Laidlaw, Carol Smith; a heritage of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Barbara Hersh. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pathways Hospice in care of Bohlender Fuernal Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. A private family service will be held at a later date.
