Listen to Obituary
Lois (Bonny) Roos was born August 19, 1941 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, to Louis and Dorotha Bruno. She died at home surrounded by her family on February 28, 2021 of complications from kidney disease and diabetes. She graduated from Waynesburg High School (1959) and Waynesburg College (now University) in 1963 with a B. A in English. She taught high school English for one year in Lorain, Ohio before marrying Eric Roos and moving to Morgantown, W. VA while Eric attended graduate school at West Virginia University. Upon graduation in 1967, they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where Eric was employed by the US Department of Agriculture at the National Seed Storage Laboratory.

Bonny was an accomplished cross-stitcher and many of her Christmas ornaments are cherished by numerous relatives. Bonny was an astute collector of many things including Santa Clauses, nutcrackers, Christmas ornaments, unicorns, and, of course, her many bears. She was an avid reader of many genres including biographies, history, and an occasional mystery here and there.

Above all, Bonny loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Eric, her son Michael Roos of Fort Collins, daughter Erin Cockrell (John) of Loveland, CO; sisters Carolyn Bruno of Pasadena, CA, and Lugene Wargo (Peter) of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers Louis Bruno (Helen) of Friedens, PA, and Thomas Bruno of Waynesburg, PA; and step grandchildren Tegan Hollen (Patrick), Paxton Cockrell, and Brianne Cockrell.

No funeral services are planned at this time. Cremation will be performed.
