Lenard James Hickman passed away May 18, 2007. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment with Military Honors by the FortCollins All Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mr. Hickman from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Lenard James Hickman was born in Red Oak, Okla., on April 11, 1920, to parents John H. and Edith Hafley Hickman. Lenard married Frances Inez Barclay on March 7, 1942, in Danville, Ark. Lenard was a World War II and Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart and three Bronze Service Stars. Lenard moved to Fort Collins in April 1953 and was employed at Eastside Lumber Company, Cook Lumber Company and retired from Big Horn Lumber Company in May 1991 in Laramie, Wyo. Lenard will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love of kids and numerous fishing adventures. Preceding him in death were his wife of 57 years, Inez; his son, Larry; as well as his parents; three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his son, Leonard Junior and wife Erma of Hood River, Ore.; daughter- in-law Barbara Hickman of Fort Collins; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. In appreciation of the kind and loving care provided by the staff and volunteers of Hospice, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
