Katherine Luther, 65, passed away on September 23, 2025, at her beloved home in Fort Collins, Colorado of natural causes.
"Kitty" is survived by her loving husband Randy Kechter, her fur babies Tom and Lucy as well as her extended family and many unofficially adopted children and animal friends. She will be missed dearly by all of her family in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the many other places she called home.
Kitty was born in Tuscon, Arizona on July 17, 1960, to Kenneth and Carol Luther. Big sister to brother David, Kitty was very dedicated to her family and had many home videos and photos that she would share with anyone she could. The freest of spirits, Kitty was always ready for the next adventure. A devoted Lutheran, book reader, and animal lover, Kitty enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was sightseeing or traveling or enjoying the many critters that would come from near and far to bask in the wonders of her beautiful backyard. This same backyard holds memories of her soul dog Belle, who loved to play fetch and be taken to the river.
There were many things that made Kitty special. Her fiery red hair, her wild hippie heart, and most wonderfully, how well she loved others. Kitty was someone that you could come to exactly as you were, and she would meet you there with open arms and an open heart. A true Christian, she loved unconditionally and without judgement. Whatever you may have seen as a flaw, she saw as beautiful.
Kitty was a generous woman involved in conservation and environmentally friendly initiatives. She had a passion for photography and a true eye for beauty. An avid vintage movie enjoyer, Kitty had a fabulous collection of trinkets from all over the world, and she was happy to share stories and provide the greatest listening ear whenever one was needed.
Kitty will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
