Listen to Obituary
Jose Elias Gamiño De Torres Sr., made his way home to heaven on July 20th, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Maria Salud Gamiño, four of his siblings; Lupe Reyes, Maria Ordaz, Daniel Gamiño, Ruben Gamiño and his son Jose Elias Gamiño Jr. He created a beautiful family that he loved and lived for. His family tree started with himself and his wife, Eleanor Gamiño. His five kids; Esmeralda Gamiño, Jose Gamiño Jr., Paul Gamiño, Cristina Gamiño and Jaime Gamiño. Along with his seven grandchildren, Valerie Gamiño, Jesus Carreon Jr., Asher Gamiño, Marisol Carreon, Michael Gamiño, Noah Gamiño, and Aryanna Carreon. And finally, one beautiful great-grandchild, Ezra Gamiño.

Jose was born on April 9, 1945 in Coahuila, Mexico. He grew up with his dad, Jose Gamiño Sr., his mother, Maria Salud Gamiño De Torres and his siblings, Lupe Reyes, Maria Ordaz, Daniel Gamiño, Sara Jimenez, Ester Rosales, Elizabeth Garcia and Ruben Gamiño. He came to the United States at just 22 years of age. He lived a beautiful peaceful life in Fort Collins, CO. He worked throughout his life to provide a good life for his family and was able to retire after 30 years of employment at Colorado State University. He spent his retirement fishing, camping, talking long walks, building bird houses, working in his yard and garden, and finally spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.

He also had a passion for serving and telling people about Jesus. He lived a faithful life through God shown and displayed by his Father's and Mother's ministry. Their fruit created a man who was gentle, strong, confident, and faithful Man of God who lived a life displaying the love of God everywhere he would go. His home church was Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland, CO., which he attended faithfully with his wife and made life long friendships.

God helped Jose fight his battles through many sicknesses. He accepted his physical challenges with grace and dignity and a supernatural determination that only came from God. This helped him to live a life of purpose and joy. Anyone that had the privilege of getting to know Jose knows he was a great friend, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, and much more.

His loving wife, children, grandkids and family will miss him dearly but have the assurance that one day they will be reunited with him in Heaven. His legacy will live through his wife, children, grandchildren and every one who knew and loved him. He will never be forgotten but we know through our faith in God, "This is not the end, only the beginning". We bless every seed he planted, may it grow and multiply and create fruit that will last for generations to come.
