John L. Duffy

John Leland Duffy, 85, of Fort Collins, died Dec. 15, 2007, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Duffy was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Pomona, Calif., to Homer L. Duffy and Ruth L. Brewer Duffy. John moved to Colorado in 1966 and in 1971 moved to Fort Collins. He held many jobs but was the cafeteria manager for the National Federation of the Blind for 18 years. He enjoyed making bolo ties out of wood, listening to big band music and western stories. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Duffy; a son, David Duffy of Fort Collins; a daughter, Sarah Jane Christensen of Gardnerville, Nev.; a sister, Jane Jenkins of Santa Monica, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding John in death are his parents and a son, Danny Duffy. A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery.
