Jeannette Dalton, 95, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 6th, 2026 in Fort Collins Colorado.
She is survived by her sons: Ray T. Dalton Jr. of Louisville KY; David M. Dalton (Nancy) of Atlanta GA; and Stephen W Dalton (Efrat) of Ft. Collins Colorado. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great granddaughters.
Jeannette was born on April 11, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Paul and Della Uber. She grew up in Western Pennsylvania and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Mercer, PA, before graduating from Campbell Memorial high school in 1947.
In 1950, she married Ray Thomas Dalton Sr., with whom she shared 59 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. After their marriage, they lived on the East side of Youngstown and later settled in Cornersburg, where they raised their three sons, all of whom attended Canfield Schools.
Jeannette worked part-time for many years at Mr. B's Catering in Cornersburg. She and her family were longtime members of Western Reserve United Methodist church, where she volunteered with Helping Hands.
Jeannette was known by her family and friends as a deeply loving and compassionate person. She had a quiet kindness for everyone around her, a special tenderness toward animals, and a steady devotion to her family that was felt in everyday acts of care and generosity.
An exceptional cook and baker, she was especially known for her pies and fruit cakes. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan who kept detailed notes on many games and was a lifelong, enthusiastic reader.
Jeannette lived in Ft. Collins for the last 11 years to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Thomas Dalton Sr., and will be laid to rest beside him at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Youngstown.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for family.
We invite family and friends to share their memories and stories of Jeannette.
