James William Ortivez, 58, of Fort Collins, died June 21, 2010 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Ortivez was born August 22, 1951 in Redwing, Colorado to Mariano and Della "Cordova" Ortivez. Jim married Belinda Jane Alvarez on January 24, 1981 in Fort Collins at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Ortivez lived in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins most of his life. He worked as a laborer in construction and was in the Local 720 Labor Union for thirty four and half years. Jim enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows. He loved fishing, going to the Silver Grill on Saturday mornings for breakfast and then making his rounds to the pawn shops and goodwill. Survivors include his wife, Belinda; son, Clint Sherry Williams; daughters, Marguerite Terry Borth, and Lupy Milo Ramirez all of Fort Collins; brothers, Gilbert Ortivez and Louie Della Ortivez and nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Jim in death are his mother and father; infant sister, Marguerite Ortivez; sister-in-law, Florence Ortivez; mother-in-law, Socorro Rina Holman; brother, Rufus Ortivez; and an infant grandson, Andrew Williams. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the James William Ortivez Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
