Our beloved friend, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather, Israel "Rolly" Alvarez, entered God's Kingdom on December 2nd, 2023.
Israel was born to Eulalio and Beatrice Alvarez on September 2nd, 1949 in Reedville, Texas. Throughout his childhood years, he spent a lot of time moving between Texas and Colorado with his family. In 1969, Israel began his service in the military and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Israel would go on to Advanced Individual Training in Fort Ord, California before being stationed in Vietnam for fourteen months. He spent the rest of his service in Fort Carson, Colorado to finish his duty in 1971.
After serving in Vietnam, Israel returned home to marry his wife, Eleanor, in 1971. In 1972, Israel and Eleanor moved to Wellington, Colorado, where Israel spent the remainder of his life. During their fifty-one years of marriage, they welcomed five children, Laurie, Eulalio, Israel Jr., Ramon, and Samuel, whom he loved dearly.
In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, Israel had a passion for fishing, hunting, dancing, playing pool, making chicharrones, planning parties at his property in Wellington, and listening to oldies and Tejano music. When he wasn't found doing these activities, he was out being an incredibly hard worker. Israel spent twelve years working for the railroad and fifteen years managing his own successful family concrete business.
Israel is survived by his wife, Eleanor, and their five children Laurie, Eulalio, Israel Jr., Ramon, and Samuel. Along with his eight grandchildren, Rochelle, Branden, Alex, Jahneise, Selena, Julian, Hazel, and Raymon; his three great-grandchildren, Milo, Andrés, and Scarlett; as well as his four siblings, Lupe, Gloria, Yolanda, and Richard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Beatrice Alvarez; his brothers Pete and Isidoro; and his sisters Donna, Jeannie, Bertha, and Irene.
In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.
