Listen to Obituary
Harry Lee Ahlbrandt passed away July 17, 2025 in Cheyenne, WY. He was born at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO on January 20, 1929. He was the second son of Carl and Dorothy Ahlbrandt. Harry grew up in Wellington on the family farm with his two brothers Carl Jr. and Jack.

Harry was very proud of his time at Wellington High School and enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. Harry was a proud veteran, a valued member of the Wellington Lions Club, and highly respected member of the American Legion for over 50 years. When he returned from Germany, he met Arlene Briggs of Fort Collins, CO and wed on September 19, 1953. Harry and Arlene had three sons Jerry, James "Jim", and Joe (Michelle).

Harry continued farming until he went to work for Colorado State University's motor pool. Then in 1988 Harry retired as the fleet manager. After retirement, Harry and Arlene traveled the world extensively exploring the Wonders of the World. In his free time Harry enjoyed a variety of hobbies including: working in his yard, gardening, and working in his wood-shop, as he was a very talented woodworker.

Harry and Arlene were blessed with four grandchildren, JC Ahlbrandt (Sierra), Chelsea Ahlbrandt (Pete), Hayden Ahlbrandt (Kait), and Straten Ahlbrandt (Sammy). They were also blessed with nine great grandchildren: Braydon, Jordin, Serenity, Peyton, Charlie, Stella, Frankie, Otto, and Bodhi. Harry was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Carl and Jack, his wife Arlene, his son Jerry Lee, his son James John, and his great grandson Brayden Gage.

Harry was beloved by his family and enjoyed by all who met him. He enjoyed singing songs that his caring nurses at the VA Living Center at Cheyenne can attest to. His family wishes him peace, love, and a rum and coke without a hole in the bottom of the cup.

His life will be remembered on Wednesday July 30th.
