Harlan C. Radtke, 83, of Fort Collins, died February 6, 2006 after a short illness. Mr. Radtke was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Springfield, Minn., to Edward and Sophia Radtke. He fought in World War II in the Pacific with the marines. With an interest in art and cartooning he became owner and editor of a small town newspaper in Westbrook, Minn. Harlan married Helen Nickel in 1949. In 1960 they moved to Estes Park, where they owned and managed a motor lodge. They then retired to Fort Collins in 1972. Harlan was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen in 1996. He then married Gloria Shonka, of Sanborn, Minn., in 1999. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church. Survivors are his second wife, Gloria; daughter, Rebecca; grandsons, Torry, Ryan, and Dane; a brother, Virgil Radtke, of Loveland and sister, Marjorie Hemphill, of Menifee, Calif. A private family service will be at a later date in Sanborn, Minn.
