Fredie Amelia Van Cleave, 96 1/2, of Fort Collins, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2014 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Van Cleave was born January 11, 1918 in Carbon County, Wyoming to Ernest and Ruth Ambler Miller. Fredie married William F. Van Cleave on May 23, 1936 in Fort Collins, Colorado. William preceded her in death December 22, 1985. Mrs. Van Cleave was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Fort Collins for over sixty years. She also belonged to the Elks, the Pioneer Association, Mountainview Extension Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cooking, and family; calling her home "Fredie's Bistro". Survivors include her sons, Terry Mary Van Cleave of Fort Collins and Colby Sandy Van Cleave of New Raymer; daughter, Wendy Van Cleave of Fort Collins; brother, Gale Miller of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Preceding Fredie in death are her parents; her husband, William; sisters, Irva Mae Newkirk and Jayne Robinson. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pastor Paul McGraw will officiate the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
