Frank Raymond Baker, 94, of Rist Canyon, died Jan. 12, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Baker was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Redding, Iowa, to Ira Clarence Baker and Lula Bell Herrington Baker. Frank married Mona Viola Crockett on Feb. 6, 1935, in Fillmore, Mis. He later married Mildred Bell Mapes Pittington, Aug. 18, 1948, in Boulder. Both of his wives preceded him in death. Mr. Baker arrived in Fort Collins in 1958. He was a fork lift operator, truck driver, farmer, fruit picker, and a lumberman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, and had traveled around the United States. He will be remembered for being hardworking and kind hearted. Survivors include his three sons, Franklin Leon Baker of Bellvue, John Dee Baker of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Ira Dean Baker of Bellvue; four daughters, Roma Ann Marsch of Kansas City, Mis., Nellie Jane Bowman of Fort Collins, Marjorie Ruth Craine of Waldron, Mis., and Mary Faye Typer of Ohio; 29 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren. Preceding Frank in death is his son William Richard Pittington. A Private Family Service will be held on the Baker homeplace.
