Listen to Obituary
Frances M. Maciel, 88, of Fort Collins passed away November 29, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital. She was born in Wagon Mound, New Mexico on July 4, 1924 to Henry Pacheco and Maria Roybal. She attended schools in New Mexico, Montana and Colorado. She married Pete Maciel on August 25, 1943. Frances worked various jobs throughout her life, but was proud to work with her kids picking beans or cherries. Final employment before retirement was cleaning homes for individuals who became friends instead of clients. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Maciel and son, Robert "Butch" Maciel; grandchildren, Jackie Mollendor Dave and Emily Maciel. She felt very blessed to have five great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete; sons, Joseph, Pete Jr., and Nolan. Frances loved traveling with family and friends, gambling, but never forgetting to have her 4th of July birthday bash for relatives and friends. She was affectionately known as "mom". Visiting her always ended with words of wisdom, "Have fun and don't get into trouble" as she pointed her finger at you to make sure she had your undivided attention.
