Ferne E. Besack

Ferne E. Besack, 97, of Fort Collins, died August 14, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Besack was born April 1, 1912 in Hershey, Nebraska to Amos Ellsworth and Ella Evans Ellsworth. Ferne married Frederick Wilson "Fritz" Besack on October 27, 1934 in North Platte, Nebraska. Ferne was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Lady Elks. In her younger years she loved to dance and play bridge, and she and Fritz would often travel clear across Nebraska to dance to a good band. Survivors include her son, Larry R. Besack and his friend, Joan Johnston of Greeley; a sister, Doris Bauer of North Platte, Nebraska; two grandchildren, James and Christine Besack, both of Greeley; a nephew, Stanley Ellsworth and wife Carol of Hugo, Colorado, several other nieces and nephews, and her "Guardian Angel" Marge Jorgenson. Preceding Ferne in death is her husband, Frederick, and brother, Richard Ellsworth. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Rev. Rich McDermott will officiate at the service.
