Evelyn B. Collins, 94, of Fort Collins, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born at the beginning of the Great Depression in Maryland, Evelyn experienced both hardship and good fortune as she lived through a momentous period of change, spanning World War II and the recent decades of technological advancement.
Evelyn had a robust sense of humor, loved theater and film, enjoyed traveling, expected to win at poker, and had a special affection for Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. Most importantly, she loved her family and close friends more than anything else and was an unrelenting advocate for their interests and happiness. Evelyn inspired others with her honesty, integrity, and self-reliance, as well as her ability to navigate challenges effectively and to persevere through adversity. These traits were obvious to those that were close to her, and they will continue to serve as an invaluable legacy for her family.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles, and her second husband, Henry, both of whom served in World War II. Her brother, Charles, and her sister, Grace, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include Evelyn's three children, Beverly (spouse Robert), Cynthia (spouse Bruce), and Christopher (spouse Larry); her sister Jeannette; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 am, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
