Esther Park, 90, of Fort Collins departed to her heavenly home April 05, 2010, at Poudre Valley Hospital. She was born February 27, 1920 in Indianola, Nebraska to James and Amy Bailey. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1935 at the age of 15. Esther then received her teaching certificate and taught in a one room rural school with students from 1st through 8th grade. Esther and her mother moved to Colorado in 1937 to join other family members. Esther married Roscoe Park on Sept. 4, 1937, in Fort Collins, Co. They lived in Fort Collins for more than 73 years. She worked as a waitress during the early years in Fort Collins then began her work as a mother of five. Esther worked for CSU as dorm cook and later in the Registrars Office. She finished her working career with her first love -- teaching. Esther enjoyed being a Teacher Aide for Poudre R-1 School District working at Laurel Elementary. Esther was one of the early members of the Fort Collins Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints where she served in many capacities including teacher and genealogist. She was sealed to her family in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest love was spending time and serving her family. She and Roscoe went dancing nearly every weekend. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and sewing. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their trailer and spending winters in Arizona. She is survived by her five children. Pat BeDunnah and her husband Gary of Las Vegas, Charles Park and his wife Betty of Fort Collins, Don Park and his wife Connie of Lyons, Bernita Sterling and her husband Roger of Fort Collins and Greg Park and his wife Gwen of Salt Lake, twenty grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, one sister, and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Harmony Building, 1320 W. Harmony Rd. at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Contributions can be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be at Bohlender Funeral Chapel from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday evening. Viewing at the Church will be held from 9 am to 10 am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
