Elizabeth "Betsy" Dyer Smith, 84, died January 29, 2022, in Ft. Collins following a six-week period of illness. Betsy was born in Buffalo, New York to her parents Frances Bowerman Smith and Robert Dyer Smith. Betsy graduated from Amherst High School and William Smith College in Geneva, New York; located on beautiful Seneca Lake. Betsy was pre-deceased by her parents; her sisters Barbara Bonner and Martha "Marty" Simonds; and her daughter Anne who died in childhood. Betsy is survived by her children Robert Ziegelmair, Richard Ziegelmair and Susan Smith and their families; and her former husband Ludwig Ziegelmair and his family. In addition Betsy is survived by her brother-in -law Rick Simonds, and five nieces/nephews and their families. For the past 18 years, Betsy resided at The Sanctuary Apartments in southwest Ft. Collins. While living at The Sanctuary Apartments, Betsy enjoyed the friendship of other residents, assistance from the staff, and incomparable sunsets of the Front Range Foothills.
