Listen to Obituary
Eileen Marie Stevenson, born in 1920, was a true native of Colorado raised in Fort Collins. She graduated from Fort Collins High School, was a graduate of CSU and went on to become an elementary school teacher. She married John Robert Stevenson, a pastor in the Presbyterian Church, and was the mother of three boys, David, Paul and George. Having taught elementary art for 25 years, she was a delightful part of thousands of young students. The highlight of her career came after she "retired", when she taught in Taiwan at a missionary school. She was able to travel frequently to Scotland, visiting family and making new friends. Active in both the Presbyterian and the Conservative Baptist churches, she also taught several Bible classes. During her life she kept on the move, literally moving across the country and world more than 20 times. Her final move, she often would joke, would be to heaven, where she is now resting. Surviving are her brother, Robert Nowack; and two sons, David and George. Services well be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Torrey Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wycliffe Bible Translators P.O. Box 628200 Orlando, FL. 32862-8200.
