Dorothy E. Uhrich, 81, of Fort Collins, died Sept. 17, 2006, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Uhrich was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Berthoud, to John Sterkel and Katherine Wilt Sterkel. Dorothy married Herman H. Uhrich on March 2, 1947, in Loveland. She lived in Fort Collins for 60 years. She worked hard her whole life at Teledyne Water Pik for 15 years, taking in ironing for people, and worked for the school lunch program. She loved canning, cleaning, and taking care of her family and friends. She also loved to cook, and made great noodles and butterballs. She was in a bowling league for many years, and enjoyed gardening and music. She was always there for us and no matter what, she always had a smile. Mrs. Uhrich is survived by her children, Gary Uhrich and Diana Anderson and her husband, Terry, of Fort Collins; a brother, Sam Sterkel of Loveland; one sister, Margaret Ibsen of Berthoud; two grandchildren, Lisa and Julie Anderson of Fort Collins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters and five brothers. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Plymouth Congregational Church, 916 W. Prospect Road. The Rev.
