Doris Reaves Reynolds, our mother, our Nana, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Doris was born July 25, 1930 in McKinney, Texas. Her parents were James Oscar Reaves and Grace Cottle Reaves; siblings included her twin sister, Dorothy Reaves Burleson, sisters, Corene Reaves Nance, Louise Reaves Mitchell and brothers, Truman Reaves and Kenneth Reaves. Doris moved to Fort Worth, Texas when she was 12 years old. She married Robert Bob Oril Reynolds on October 8, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1972. Bob preceded her in death on April 25, 2008. Bob and Doris owned and operated Reynolds Oldsmobile/Cadillac/Subaru in Fort Collins for 24 years until they sold the dealership in 1996 to the Dellenbach family. Doris as well as her husband were avid fans and supporters of Colorado State University. Doris enjoyed golf with her friends and family, playing bridge, and bowling. Most of all she cherished the times she spent with her daughters and their families. Her family was her life and she is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ellis and husband, Gary, Janet Tompkins, Susie Blakney and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Austin Ellis and wife, Lori, Eric Ellis and wife, Kelly, Bryan Tompkins and wife Terri, Brandon Tompkins, and wife, Alison, Shawna Laborde and husband, Trevor, Robert Blakney and wife, Sheila, brother, Kenneth and wife, Paula, brother in law, Ken Reynolds and wife, Sue. Doris was blessed with 9 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters. Doris was a friend to all she met and always had a kind word to say about everyone. She was a true lady in every sense of the word and lived her life with grace. Besides her husband, Bob, Doris was preceded in death by son in law, Bart Tompkins; great grandson, Tyson Laborde; twin sister, Dorothy Burleson; sisters, Louise Mitchell and Corene Nance; brother, Truman Reaves, nephew, Kelcie Nance. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 15th at Timberline Church, South Auditorium, 2908 S. Timberline Road at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Bob Reynolds Memorial Football Scholarship at Colorado State University in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
