Charles Phillip Rossi, age 63, of Fort Collins passed away in his sleep at home on October 19, 2010. Charles was born July 10, 1947 in New Jersey. He graduated from Mahwah High School in New Jersey and served in the U.S. Armed Forces. He married Diane Johnson in 1973 and he had one stepson, and three other children. They moved to Colorado in 1975 and Charlie began his career in the Colorado State Forest Service in 1978 as a heavy equipment mechanic and became involved in forest fires. Charlie held many positions in fire and has been a Logistics Chief for Type II Teams for many years. He also taught this position and many others at Wild Fire Academies in Colorado and New York since the mid 90's. Charlie is survived by his wife, Diane Rossi; step son, Jon Davis: son, Jason Rossi; daughters, Jessica and Jenell Rossi; four granddaughters, Melissa, Melody, Ava and Brooklynn; three sisters and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. There are many more family members who have loved him. He was a most amazing, loving and caring husband, father and friend. He will be desperately missed. A Memorial Service with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard is being held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Community Church at 201 Whedbee St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles P.
