Charles Albert Niswender, 82, of Red Feather Lakes, died December 18, 2014.
Mr. Niswender was born May 23, 1932 in Fort Collins to Cecil Niswender and Fauvette Niswender. Chuck lived in Fort Collins for 65 years. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1950. In 1951 he joined the United State Army and served in the Korean War from 1953-1954. For his service he received a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a United Nations Service Medal, a Combat Infantry Badge, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. Chuck married Carolyn Joyce Nelson on August 28, 1955 in Fort Collins. They lived in Red Feather Lakes for 18 years where Chuck worked as a Larimer County Road and Bridge truck driver.
He enjoyed hunting and was a gun enthusiast. He was NRA member, and was actively involved with The Morning Star Community Church of Red Feather Lakes.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Niswender; two sons, Troy Niswender and his wife, Kristi, and Greg Niswender and his wife, Annie; daughter Kim Niswender Morrison; three brothers, Guy Niswender and his wife, Stella, Ed Niswender and his wife, Cathy, and Ken Niswender and his wife, Chris; sister Sherry Kettle; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding Charles in death are his parents, his infant son, his sister, and his granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 22, at 11:00am, at Morning Star Community Church, 23628 West County Rd. 74E, Red Feather Lakes, CO.
