Chuck Nesbit
Charles Grant Nesbit, born June 3, 1954 was a Fort Collins native and left us on May 12, 2022 after a long fight with MSA. He was strong, and fought his heart out to stay for the family and friends he loved so much.
An incredible son, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to so many, Chuck loved unconditionally. He spent most Sunday's with his mom, sister and kids. Even when mobility was an issue, Chuck didn't miss any event or gathering and had so many people to help him get to them all. Family was his first priority, even making the trip to his granddaughter's first birthday only a month before he passed. One of his favorite trips was with his son Logan to California for his daughter Hattie's graduation.
Chuck was smart, creative, a "jack of all trades", and spent most of his working life honing his skills as a master carpenter and running his own flooring business. He answered any all calls for help from anyone who needed anything. Chuck took great pride in his work and did it so well.
Chuck was up for anything. He loved to travel, getting to California and Oregon as often as he could. Him and his wife Wendy took trips to Mexico, and spent tons of time discovering the secrete spots and the best Colorado has to offer, locally. They were married 25 years (26 next month) and spent so much time in their favorite spots, Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.
One of Chuck's favorite stories to tell, was getting stopped to have his picture taken as a kid, because people couldn't believe that when he was riding his horse that he had a lamb, a raccoon named Goose and his dog Jigs following behind him.
Chuck has so many lifelong friends from growing up here locally. He never met a stranger and was warm and welcoming his entire life. His nurses even commented that they rarely see someone with so many visitors, and they enjoyed his humor and charm.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard Nesbit; his sister Barb Dugee; his mother in law Joann Duvall and his stepfather, Harold Asmus.
He leaves behind a loving family; his mother Betty Asmus, wife Wendy Nesbit; his four children: Hattie Nesbit, Logan Nesbit, Jenna Feland, and Danielle Feland; his sister Sandra Nesbit Manning (Michael); brother Thomas Nesbit (Sarah); father-in-law Merv Railing, and an incredible list of loving amazing extended family members, many nieces, nephews and cousins, but most recently two new granddaughters, Sutton and Jocelynn, that he adored.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 4th at 1pm at the Paddlers Pub, 1329 N U.S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80524
