Charles ?Chuck? K. Brown, 88, of Fort Collins, died May 12, 2010 at his home. Mr. Brown was born November 10, 1921 in Loveland, Colorado to George and Matilda ?Ross? Brown. Chuck served in the Army in the 45th Division, 157th Infantry Thunderbirds in WWII.
He met Grace M. Nix at a café in Wellington and they were married in Fort Collins, September 14, 1944. Chuck worked in the oil field all of his life, working all over the western United States, Alaska and Africa. He settled in Casper, Wyoming for 18 years and retired as Drilling Superintendant with American Drilling and then moved to Fort Collins in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Grace; son, Kenneth Brown of Fort Collins; daughter, Carol Richard of Arlington, Washington; sister, Ruth Orman of Meeker, Colorado; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding Chuck in death are his parents; one brother and one sister. A Memorial Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Hospice Chaplain Dennis Kaz will officiate.
