AIDA RAIDER, 87, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away Friday morning, August 19, 2022, under hospice care at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, in 1935, Aida was a daughter of the late Ramon & Guillermina Ramirez. In 1944, at the age of 9, she moved to New York City with her parents and 10-year-old sister.
In 1983, she moved to Fort Collins where she began the most rewarding part of her life. Increasing her devotion to the Christian faith at the Faith Church where she was involved in many aspects of the church including Stephen Ministries and many mission trips throughout the country and overseas.
Her professional careers included union representative for the Seamstress Union in New York City, secretary for the Manhattan District Attorney and secretary at the United Nations in New York. She was a real estate agent, travel agent, worked at Dunkin' Donuts, housekeeping at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. She was also a nanny for the Wirt Family of Fort Collins and finally as a receptionist at The Winslow Independent Living facility.
Her interests and hobbies included spreading the word of the Lord, gardening, performing at the senior center with the SOAP Troop, women's bible study -WOW, the Lions Club, and the Red Hat Society. She also became the poster child for recycling by The Coloradoan.
Aida is survived by her sister, Carmen Santos, children, Bill, Tony, Charlie Jr., and Marci, grandchildren, Joe, Melanie, Alissa, Quinn, Ernest and Teresa, great grandchildren, Kayleena, Tobias, Harper, and great-great-grandchild, Dezmond. Her extended family includes her daughters-in-law- Eugenia, Angela (Pinky), Stella and Delores, son-in-law-Dave and her nephews and nieces-Raymond, George (deceased), Julio, Ruby, Marcus, and Tania.
• She touched the heart of every person she met and has been described as a most loving, empathetic person. During the last 39 years of her life, Aida always considered herself to be the most blessed person on the face of the planet. She was able to travel around the world, spread the word of the Lord in many countries and had the unconditional love of her family and friends. Now she sits by the side of our Holy Savior, guarding all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to especially recognize Aida's friends-Isa, Diane (her guardian angel), Maryann, Scott, Christie, Kim, Leanne, Gary, and Becky.
