Richard Lee Williams, 88, passed away of natural causes on March 15, 2014 at Windsor Health Care Center in Windsor, CO. Richard was born May 21, 1925 in Stanford, Montana to Otto and Blanche Cottier Williams. A Veteran of WWII, he enlisted in the Army Air Force on January 14, 1941, and was honorably discharged on September 13, 1945. During his service, he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the Soldiers Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Bronze Star. He was married to Barbara Worth Nauman in Denver, CO on May 1, 1949. A long-time custom home builder in the Denver and Loveland areas, he was proud to be the first to erect a fully factory built home in which his family lived at Silver Lake in Loveland. He finished his professional career as an inspector for the Federal Housing Administration in Denver. Raised on a Montana cattle ranch, he and wife, Barbara encouraged and spent many hours supporting their children's involvement in both the Sweetheart Riders and Rawhiders 4-H clubs, as well as Arabian and Paint horse showing events. Richard was preceded in death by former wife, Barbara Williams, his parents, and four older brothers. Survivors include: daughter, Stefanie Murphy of Fort Worth, TX; son, Gregory Williams of Parker, CO; grandson, B J Amy Murphy of Mesa, AZ; granddaughter, Dixie Sean Ryon of Cleburne, TX; great-grandchildren, Gavin Michael Murphy and Regan Windy Ryon; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family thanks the staff of Windsor Health Care for their service to Richard over many years and to Accent Care of Colorado for their recent hospice care services. Services at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver are pending for the Spring or Fall.
