Ralph Weiland passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 6, 2006. A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St. Cremation has taken place; interment will be at a later date. Ralph Jacob Weiland was born at home to Ted and Mary Weiland on Nov. 21, 1921, in Kenosha County Wis. He married Eloise Geraldine Sorenson on Oct. 20, 1945. He was a dairy farmer in Wisconsin. After moving to Colorado in 1956, he worked at Ideal Cement Co. in LaPorte for over 22 years. Following retirement, Ralph and Eloise lived in Roswell, N.M., for 17 years. They returned to Fort Collins in 1999. From childhood on, Ralph was an avid horseman and was instrumental in teaching his children and grandchildren to ride. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years; eight children, Sue Heineman Don, Barbara Weiland, Nancy Fisher Gene, Peggy Bartlett Bob, Jean Glennon Whitehouse Anthony, Alison Warkentin Patrick, Ted Weiland Linda, and Bob Weiland Nancy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Kimberly Womack Bart, Sherrie Engelken David, Kristie Heineman, Carl Bartlett Michele, Tom Glennon, Katie, Derek, Amy and Jared Weiland and Tyler and Kari Weiland and five great-grandchildren, Shawn and Brittany Engelken, Brianna and Madison Womack, and Kiera Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Brent Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ralph Weiland Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The funds will be donated to charities of Ralph's choice.
